<p><strong>Fraud is wrong and I will write legislation to prevent it. </strong>Fraud has been happening in Minnesota since 2013 with the first investigations of day care fraud. It's only recently received more attention, including national attention. Fraud is wrong and, based on the history of fraud, there are insufficient protections in place to prevent it. I've worked as a bank vice president and know how to prevent fraud. It's what we do.</p><p></p><p>We need to hold those responsible for committing and covering up the fraud accountable. I'm working to bring integrity back to politics and stand up for what is right and against what is wrong! Fraud is wrong and we need to STOP it NOW!</p>

<h2>Prevent fraud</h2>

<p><strong>We need to hear and trust survivors.</strong> One in three women and one in four men are forever impacted by domestic violence.  Too often, the lives of women and men are forever impacted due to domestic and sexual abuse and violence. We need to hear and trust survivors, promote examples of what it means to be a good person in the 21st Century, educate law enforcement to enforce the laws already available to prevent domestic and sexual violence, and, where laws don't exist, create laws that do more to prevent violence and hold people accountable.</p>

<h2>Prevent Domestic and Sexual Violence</h2>

<p><strong>The Boundary Waters and Voyageurs National Park are a Minnesota treasure.</strong> It's important that we do all we can to preserve the Minnesota Boundary Waters and Voyageurs National Park while as the same time ensure the wealth from the mines are kept in the Arrowhead.</p>

<h2>Protect the BWCA</h2>

<p><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);"><strong>I will work to create a better Minnesota</strong></span> where more people own their own homes, more people run small family businesses, more farmers operate small family farms, more employees are working for employee-owned businesses, more people receive their electricity from electric cooperatives, and more farmers have the right to repair their own equipment and plant their own seeds.  This will bring prosperity and people back to rural and Greater Minnesota.  We need to make rural and Greater Minnesota great again.</p>

<h2>Encourage an Ownership Society</h2>

<p><strong>Buying a house in our area is far outpacing what people can afford.</strong>  I will leverage my background as a bank vice president to develop practical solutions for housing affordability.  I will focus on first-time buyers, first-time move-up buyers, and people seeking to downsize.  It is time to address the long-standing housing crisis with immediate, decisive leadership and action.</p>

<h2>Make it More Affordable to Buy a Home</h2>

<p><strong>I believe that every single person has inherent dignity and worth, and in our community, all are invited and all are welcome.</strong>  Supporting LGBTQIA+ rights isn't about politics, it's about basic fairness, safety, and equal opportunity under the law.  We can build a community where everyone is protected from discrimination in housing, employment, and public life, while simultaneously respecting religious freedom and faith traditions.  By focusing on mutual respect, strong families, and equal rights, we ensure that every neighbor has a seat at the table and the freedom to thrive.</p>

<h2>All Are Invited and All Are Welcome</h2>

<p><strong>It's time to put an end to the legal bribery of elected officials.</strong>  As a first-time candidate, I see how dark money and major donors skew legislative outcomes to reward special interests rather than the interests of Minnesotans.  Therefore, I'm in full support of removing big money from elections to curb its influence on campaigns and policy decisions.</p>

<h2>Get Big Money Out of Politics</h2>

<p><strong>I support the second amendment and responsible gun ownership.</strong> I'm a gun owner and I fully support the Second Amendment and also enforcing the laws on the books.&nbsp; I also believe most gun owners are responsible gun owners and wouldn't commit violence against another person with their guns.&nbsp; I also believe responsible gun owners don't want kids gunned down in schools or churches or synagogues or mosques or anywhere.</p><p>Therefore, where the laws are not strong enough or there are no laws, we need a serious politician to take a serious look at what we can do to reduce gun violence, protect kids, church, synagogue, and mosque goers, and all Minnesotans, and protect the second amendment.&nbsp; I believe we can do all at the same time.</p><p>We also need to enforce the laws to get and keep criminals off our streets.</p>

<h2>Make Minnesota Safer</h2>

<p><strong>Disabled veterans and seniors have given a lot to our country.</strong> The Disabled Veteran Market Exclusion has never been increased since it was created in 2008. Housing prices have increased by 75% since then. When it was enacted, a $300,000 exclusion covered more than the entire value of a typical Carver County home but today it only covers about two-thirds. Approximately 28,000 Minnesota veterans would be impacted by increasing the market value exclusions. Therefore, I would write legislation to tie the market value exclusion to the median purchase price every year.</p><p></p><p>Seniors on a fixed income and families are finding it harder to get by.  It is harder for them to stay in their homes due to the skyrocketing increases in their property taxes.  Therefore, I propose prohibiting property valuation increases for seniors on fixed incomes and families who are struggling to survive.</p>

<h2>Keep Disabled Veterans, Seniors, and Families in Their Homes</h2>

<p><strong>Our government should be transparent.</strong> Therefore, all government business should be as transparent as legally possible. In addition, elected government officials should not be allowed to sign non-disclosure agreements unless there is a compelling reason for them to do so that overrides the public's right to know. Democracy dies in darkness and a non-disclosure agreement brings darkness to the discussions and decisions government officials make that affect our everyday lives.</p>

<h2>Make Government more Transparent</h2>

<p><strong>Education creates a better society for all. </strong>I will work hard to strengthen education by fully funding K-12 education.  I will also work to bring back shop and industrial arts classes into more high schools so students can evaluate whether they want to go work, start a business, go into the trades, attend a technical or community college, or a four year college or university.  Every path is the right path for that person.</p><p></p><p>I will work hard to provide affordable early child care and childhood exploration programs with high quality staff who are paid well with great benefits.</p><p></p><p>Colleges and universities in Minnesota should not cost more than colleges and universities in Wisconsin. I will work hard to make higher education in Minnesota more affordable for those who don't qualify for the North Star Promise program.</p>

<p><strong>I vow to work collaboratively with all parties, work to bridge regional divides, and solve problems.</strong>   I believe the best legislation is created when everyone impacted has a seat at the table and they are heard and listened to.  To that end, I commit to having 50% of the bills I author be co-authored by a member of the opposing party, while actively signing on as a co-author for opposing-party legislation at the same percentage.</p><p>I will focus on bridging regional divides by building coalitions across rural, Greater Minnesota, metro, and suburban districts, including directly meeting with residents in those areas.</p><p>I'm sick of the political gamesmanship and will reject it in favor of growing a strong pragmatic middle at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.</p>

<h2>Work Collaboratively to Solve Problems</h2>

<p><strong>Pro-Choice is Pro-Life.  </strong>I am personally pro-life, but I deeply respect that every individual has a fundamental right to bodily autonomy and personal freedom.  Government interference in medical decisions undermines basic liberties. Truly supporting life means ensuring women have full access to comprehensive healthcare, affordable contraception, fertility treatments like IVF, and safe maternity care. My goal as a leader is to protect the doctor-patient relationship, empower families, and focus policy on expanding healthcare access rather than restricting personal freedoms.</p>

<h2>Reproductive Freedom</h2>

<p><strong>The cost of groceries and gas have gone up making it harder for families to survive. </strong>Many people drive long distances to work and the increase in gas prices is putting pressure on their bank accounts.</p><p>With the increase in house prices and renting and more of the costs to fund our schools placed on property owners and renters, rents and property taxes have increased significantly for most of our neighbors. I will work hard to reduce property taxes and give renters and homeowners a tax break.</p>

<p><strong>The federal invasion and terrorizing of Minnesota by ICE . </strong>Minnesota, with half the per capita population of undocumented immigrants as Illinois had eight times the number of ICE agents. With their quotas driving their illegal actions, they ambushed and kidnapped legal citizens and combat veterans. Their actions caused untold damage on Minnesota.  Many people had to stay in their homes and many restaurants were forced to shut down.  Many citizens of Minnesota were in fear of leaving their homes. We need to hold ICE accountable for the damage and require an out-of-control, masked, unidentified federal police force to follow the U.S. Constitution and the law.</p>
